One thing I've noticed post update/DLC is that destroying Japan's navy's seems to have gotten tougher. Then I just build mils and infrastructure for the military-planes/Infantry EQ, tanks, etc.
#Hearts of iron 4 guide upgrade
I upgrade these as the techs become available (mostly radar/sonar). I delete all the ships that are in the queue at the start and build 2 lines of carriers, a line of Brooklyn class cruisers, class 2 destroyers and subs.
#Hearts of iron 4 guide free
I aim for a total of about 60 dockyards, including the free ones you get through the focus tree. What I do is (and I might be very wrong)-start with dockyards since ships take long to build. I have a few of questions as a USA player-ġ\ Why build civs when you already have a ton (like 155)? Why not just get rid of the Great Depression and build mils, dockyards and refineries for rubber in case you lose the Dutch East Indies/British Malaysia?Ģ\ Do you upgrade any of the Capital ships you start with? Once their airforce is down, roll in with your CAS and you can wipe them off the map. There is virtually no rubber in Europe so if you can box them in they can't make as many planes as you. Use that and your navy to cut off their oil/rubber. Use that to focus on upgrading the bombing capaicty of your strat bombers to level them. The USA gets a massive range buff to strat bombers via focus tree. Few factories = fewer planes = more raiding = fewer factories. #3: factories/IC Once you've achieved air domination, raid their factories and get them in a downward spiral.
You want to be able to fight them, it's much easier when they can't move or barricade themselves Take these out so your bombers can raid unopposed. Cut off their supplies and they'll never be able to push you back.īombing priority: #1 airports, AA, RADAR. Your navy should have enough exp generating to not need too much focus. You NEED to win the air war otherwise you'll never be able to push. (They're gated by a long time delay + congress)Īlways take any pop-up decisions you can to build a factory if you need more people in congress.Īfter that's cleared, focus on your military. Progress through and start working on clearing your great depression debuffs whenever you can. You want your first pp purchase to be your silent workhorse so you can mitigate some of the pp daily reduction. #1 should be to focus on your politics and economy. Naval exp means free research bonuses too. You can get massive exp for both as you have massive oil deposits and plenty of time. Start exercising your airforce and navy right away. In terms of actual historical gameplay, you basically have to go through your tree to clear your debuffs, then decide what you want to prioritize. Squish Mexico for some free IC/exp as well.
One strat is to have Mexico go fascist and attack you in 1937/8 so you get the defensive war support bonus and can use the Homeland Emergency Defense Act to get rid of the great depression + up your economy/recruitment. Your economy is awful and it's hard to remove. Note: Some examples are " civilwar fascism POL" for the fascists to start a civil war in Poland, " civilwar democratic ITA" for the democrats to start a civil war in Italy, and " civilwar communism AST" for the communists to start a civil war in Australia.USA has a lot of shackles on it at the start.
